I don’t know for sure sorry, but I haven’t seen anything that would suggest that the Hue Bridge can act as an extender. It functions as it’s own ‘base’ , instead of being an ‘add-on’ device. Basically, a Hue Smart Plug or Hue light will extend the reach fine – but I don’t think that the second Hue Bridge will help you here sorry.

My Hue bridge is connected with all lights on; however, my Hue app shows “Unable to connect”! I have unplugged and started over and pushed the round center button to try to connect the bridge to the app but no luck.

We also tested a few smart bulbs that worked fine but didn’t earn our recommendation because our picks were much better. We also found that your chosen smart-home platform can affect performance. In addition, voice commands between Alexa and Google Assistant varied—so giving the same command got different results.
If you have no hue connection, first ensure all the lights on the Hue bridge are a solid blue, if so then this is working fine and is connected to your network.
