Port Santa Cruz de Tenerife cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link. I'm planning on showing several photos of the Breeze and am happy to answer any questions about my experience on this ship. I realize it is no longer sailing in Europe, but the Caribbean, but I believe Carnival's new Sunshine ship as well as the Legend will be doing a similar itinerary to what I did.

Gotta see Port Canaveral (Orlando)?
Barcelona’s a feast for the eyes and the palate, alike, and be sure not to miss the chance to try tapas as and visit spots like the La Rambla, Port Vell and especially Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Fun beach bars overlooking the Mediterranean, sleek Spanish designer stores, and Gaudí’s surreal buildings make Barcelona, Spain a whimsical and unique place to visit. For a Mediterranean cruise, Spain is a great place to start — sample the good stuff on one of Carnival’s cruises from Barcelona. It's got it all — you can enjoy new cultures and new experiences every day. The seaport is managed by Autoridad Portuaria de Santa Cruz de Tenerife (port authority company).

It links the cruise terminal with downtown (Plaza de Espana). In a nutshell, Carnival is all about fun vacations at sea and ashore! A Carnival cruise features day and nighttime entertainment like stage shows, musical performances, deck parties, casinos and more. Guests enjoy this unique experience against the backdrop of some of the world’s most beautiful seaports. Next on deck is Carnival Legend, using the new year to make big waves in Europe. From the Mediterranean to the Greek Islands, Western Europe, the British Isles, and even Iceland— this ship will turn your summer Eurodreams into a reality.

This ship has so many more options for food than any other Carnival Cruise I've been on. We ate the typical buffet food for lunch, but later realized there was pizza, Indian food, BBQ, Mexican and Italian also available! One concern I've heard from many people was with regards to crowds and long lines on the ship. While in Barcelona pre-cruise, a highlight for me on this trip was definitely La Boqueria Market off of Las Ramblas. Carnival Spirit’s got you covered with Alaskan adventures.

For even more European and global fun, check out our expanded Carnival Journeys for 2024. Western Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands cruises offer guests the unique opportunity to visit a myriad of European countries, each boasting a unique blend of history, food and entertainment. Visit the Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel in Rome, or relax at a local winery in St. Tropez. Spend some time in Barcelona’s downtown promenade one day and stroll along picturesque beaches in Cannes the next. Discover the scenic fishing villages and colorful vistas on the volcanic island of Madeira, or explore the natural aquarium that surrounds the Azores. One of cruise port's busiest days was September 26, 1993, when over 45,000 tourists came to Michael Jackson‘s concert (part of the "Dangerous World Tour").
The port has capacity to accommodate the world’s largest passenger ships of Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class (LOA length 362 m, max capacity 6780 passengers plus 2400 crew). As cruise port, Tenerife is also ranked Spain's second busiest - after Barcelona, handling nearly 1 million cruise ship passengers annually. Tenerife Island is visited by around 5 million tourists annually, making it archipelago's most visited. The island is served by two airports - Tenerife South (aka Reina Sofia) and Tenerife North (aka Los Rodeos).
The cruise port is located just 10 km (6 mi) from Tenerife North Airport and approx 60 km (37 mi) from Tenerife South Airport. The city's bus service is excellent, and it is also easy to pick a taxi almost everywhere. Just south of the border, Mexico is a great destination choice for anyone looking to escape the daily grind. On your way, you’ll also get the chance to explore and experience Catalina Island— a breathtaking locale just 22 miles from the California mainland. Once you’re back on board and headed for Mexico, kick back, look out for humpback whales in the azure waters, take a dance class, bask by the pool and explore dreamy ports of call.
So I'll also try to touch on each of the ports and how we chose to spend our time there. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is Canary Islands' largest cruise port and principal homeport (for roundtrip itineraries). Tenerife Island is largest in the Canaries, located approx 300 km (190 mi) from North Africa’s coast. The island has total area approx 2034 km2 (785 mi2) and population around 890,000, which is ~43% of Canaries' total population. Cruises from Barcelona make for some of the most unforgettable vacations you can imagine.
We chose to fly into Barcelona 5 days prior to the cruise. Mediterranean cruises take passengers to a rich mosaic of sights, from the sun-washed beaches of the Riviera to the magnificent antiquities of Rome, Athens and Ephesus. On a Mediterranean cruise, you may stroll the broad boulevards of Barcelona and Nice or view works of the masters in the museums of Florence and Paris.
Carnival's newest additions, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Luminosa, and Carnival Venezia each bring their own twist to cruising. I rarely take cruiseline excursions, but we did two on this trip. The lines to get into the theater were pretty nuts, and it was very chaotic waiting to get out. My initial reaction to the Breeze was that it was very very nice!
I actually always enjoyed the garish designs of Farcus on previous Carnival ships, but this had a "classy" feel to it. I know you're probably anxious to see the ship and hear about the actual cruise, but I wanted to share one last thing we did in Barcelona prior to boarding our ship... Much like the vikings, Carnival Pride is taking a detour to Greenland. Get ready to explore the land of icebergs, Norsemen and the Northern Lights in more epic ways than ever before. The Lido/buffet area was much nicer than any other Carnival ship I have been on.
Port Tenerife (Puerto de Santa Cruz de Tenerife) is one of world's deepest natural harbour ports. It is located on island's northeastern coast, with Anaga Mountains surrounding the seaport. Free shuttle bus service for cruise ship tourists is provided by the port authority.
Barcelona looks like a city that should be known for its architecture… and, naturally, it is. From monuments in Romanesque and Renaissance styles to Gothic spires and contemporary curves, there’s little surprise Barcelona was the creative playground of acclaimed architect Antoni Gaudí. But that’s just one reason why cruises out of Barcelona are so seductive.
